Provided an opportunity for learning and experience through observed history taking. Useful feedback provided and discussion of learning points.

Attended a crisis team appointment as a final year medical student. He put the patient at ease and created a relaxed atmosphere. I felt that he could have given the patient a little more time to talk but it was by no means rushed. The management could have been more thoroughly discussed and agreed with the patient too, but perhaps this was an executive decision based on the presentation of the patient not to labour the management plan and to take control.

He is a hard working and lovely individual who genuinely cares about the well-being of others. A lot could be learnt from him as he sets an excellent example of how a professional should be within that field; he puts a lot of thought and care into what he does, whilst making sure he tends to the well-being of others around him. Compassion is just one of the words that could be used to describe Dr Tocca; the drive and motivation he has to carry out such a demanding job is amazing. Learning a lot from a professional is what i intended to do, which i did, but learning a lot from a professional such as Dr Tocca would be considered a bonus. At time Dr Tocca will make the casual human error, which is mainly due to the fact that he has to simultaneously complete tasks throughout the day; but other than that, he is a good Dr and a Mentor.
