Dr Mitchell is just fab, she makes my son feel like a person and not just a hospital number, she shows him empathy and engages with his interests so that he's at ease and comfortable when his check ups are carried out.

As a family, we found that Dr Amy was always able to answer any questions either myself, my husband or my 13 year old daughter had regarding her diagnosis and subsequent treatment plan with such compassion and ease. Always approachable, professional and relatable. It has helped us all to understand the situation none of us ever thought we would find ourselves in, and truly feel the way Dr Amy has given us all the information has enabled us all to be very positive about the steps we now need to take with her treatment.

Dr Amy was a great doctor in my appointment today on the 10th of February. She took her time to go through the test results and feedback from orthopaedic consultant, she addressed all issues and concerns relating to my ongoing monitoring post treatment. she went on to outline my continued treatment plan, backing it up with a document that explains how things will continue.

Amy is a highly competent, dedicated and hard working doctor. She communicates clearly and effectively with children, their families and members of staff adapting the information she gives appropriately depending on the needs of those with whom she is speaking.
She actively listens to patients, their families and all members of the multi-disciplinary team and makes clear decisions. Her kind, caring and compassionate approach to all situations puts people at ease and makes them feel valued.
Amy is approachable, enthusiastic and an excellent team leader which enables her to effectively take projects forward. This has been demonstrated by her involvement with the Wessex Paediatric Oncology Guidelines and the progress made in including these on the PIER website. She has worked effectively with many members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that the guidelines are updated and the project has continued to progress.
She is a valuable team member and offers support in difficult clinical situations and times of change in the workplace.
Her energy and enthusiasm for her role and the Paediatric Oncology Unit in Southampton is evident in every aspect of her work and encourages those with whom she works to share her vision for excellent care for all patients and their families.

Amy is a fantastic colleague to work with. Communication with Amy regarding patients has always been prompt and clear. This communication enhances patient care and can make a very difficult time for families much easier when they realize that all those caring for their child communicate frequently.
Amy has always been polite and has respected my opinion, she has given helpful advice and is always willing to help with a difficult clinical problem.
I have no hesitation in recommending Amy to patients and other medical colleagues.
