I saw Dr Maarouf because of a lump I had found in my breast. I was worried as I had quite a few IVF cycles and the first thing I thought was breast cancer. He thought it was relayed to my breast ducts (as I had recently stopped breast feeding) but got me seen immediately by a breast surgeon who was able to reassure me immediately that It was a galactocele. Dr Maarouf was thorough in his assessment and reassuring as well and got me seen in a timely manner.

Doctot Maarouf is hands down, without question, the best doctor I have ever met. To be frank, he’s the only reason I use the surgery he works at. I’ve been to Dr Maarouf for many reasons over the years and he always takes the care to listen and go through everything with you, and never leaves you in the dark with anything. Even a 5* review doesn’t do this man justice, a top doctor, and an absolute gentleman.

Profile

I trained at Birmingham University and qualified as a doctor in 2006. After completing my foundation training in various hospital specialities, I undertook further training in general practice within the Black Country area and successfully gained membership to the Royal College of General Practitioners as well as the Royal College of Physicians.

After a few years as a portfolio GP (working in diabetes and more recently a hospital practitioner in endocrine medicine), I decided to further sub-specialise and am currently a specialist registrar in Chemical Pathology/Metabolic Medicine under Health Education West Midlands.

I still work as a GP in order to maintain my skills and competencies and like to think I am pretty adept at addressing patient concerns and expectations from the outset. This is hopefully reflected in my patient feedback but all experiences (whether good or bad!) are welcome.
