Dr. Amanda Hoar was one of the first doctors I met who was honest with me, she accepted my situation and was compassionate. She changed my medication to a better one that had fewer side effects, and prescribed a smaller dosage since I am sensitive to medication. I would definitely recommend her, she is probably the best doctor I have met so far.

I did not realy get on with this doctor though others have found her tobe helpful. It depends on your personality and psychological history as to whether or not you will get on with a person.Personaly I found that she clashed with my personality and I wonder if her parents argued.I would say that she never listened but then what psychiatrist ever does. They are trained to simply tick box and apply label and be arrogant. They say that they do not know what causes people to hear voices or get depressed but as long as the patients opinion counts for nothing then they will not know and will not be able to properly help. As a person Dr.Hoar is nice enough and her heart is in the right place but I would say a little more about character and less about what a person thinks or believes. We do not get sectioned for being or considered tobe strange or for having supposedly strange ideas. Ofcourse pschiatry basically upholds normality which is fine,I can understand that. But tobe ignorant of a problem that excists is not doing your job.I am sure Dr.Hoar does her job to the best of her ability,I am not wishing to criticise. But if it is not my place to tell Dr.Hoar how to do her job or any other doctor for that matter then it is not their place to tell me how to do my decision making. You can silence your voices like you can silence your critics but you cannot silence your psychiatrist, sadly. And you can choose to accept or not to accept a situation that you might be in and an individual cannot be held responsible for the problems of the society we live in.
