I was under the care of dr hay from the age of 24 to 30 as an inn patient and out patient,i have been in 4 hospitals in total and found dr hay to be the most approachable and never felt i couldn't speak openly to him.ive read negative reviews on him and wish i could show them the experiances ive had in the medium secure unit rowan bank clinic..aka the mini carstairs ,new craigs is a low low secure hospital with amazing staff nurses and a god who walks the corridors of the ipcu healing the most in need!i owe alot to dr haye ,steve Cargill

I saw this man at New Craigs. I found him to be unfriendly, unconcerned about how I felt and he didn't seem to listen. Then I saw the reports he had written and they were just plain nasty. All this made me worse and made me lose trust. Not professional or fair.

The Highlands of Scotland under Alistair Hay has one of the highest suicide rates in the UK, I am not that surprised. He never listens, writes unhelpful reports that do not get the patient any further forward and are sometimes just narcissistic and inaccurate. If he listened, tried to understand, he may help.
