This Dr feels that suicide is a choice and that if someone feels that way they shouldn't be talked out of it. She also said that despite my client going through such a difficult time with health and financial problems as well has suffering a major bereavement, that my client was not depressed but in low mood. I was shocked at how my client was treated and not at all surprised that she attempted suicide as a direct result of having to endure this Dr.

This has been preying on my mind for some time. When I attended an appointment with my partner last year, he wasn't listened to, it was suggested he was inventing his problems, we were both patronised beyond belief and it made me lose a huge amount of faith in NHS psychiatric care. Even if the situation with my partner was not as bad as he believed it to be, surely the point of psychiatric care is to be reassuring and compassionate. There are ways of suggesting a change in medication might not be the solution without creating further anxiety. It was one of the worst experiences of my life and led us to seek help from a private consultant who was very sympathetic to our circumstances.
