I attended the Resolution Health Centre on 23rd June as it is close to my work and it was far more convenient using the walk in facility here than travelling to my own GPs surgery even if I could get an appointment. I was examined by nurse practitioner Sean who was extremely caring and sympathetic, and prescribed pain relief and a telephone physio appointment for my back problem. He gave me a weeks medication with the instruction to return if the pain was no better. After 10 days I spent a sleepless Saturday night in agony with my back. My partner, who works for the NHS told me to go to A&E but heeding the warnings we are often given about not misusing A&E, and Sean's advice from my previous visit I returned to the Resolution practice in the hope of obtaining further pain relief. I had already arranged physio to deal with the cause. Remember this was early Sunday morning. This time I was seen by Dr Calebro. From the moment I explained why I was there I was made to feel I was wasting his time. He made me feel guilty for not seeing my own GP even though I explained the first appointment was in 10 days time. His response "you should have taken it". 10 sleepless nights of unbearable pain? I don't think so. If you could see my complete history Dr Calebro you'll see that at 42 years old I've probably seen a Dr maybe 10 times in my adult life. I'm certainly no time waster or malingerer. I was a genuine person, in pain, who believed he was going to the right place to access what I needed. Your attitude left me feeling like I'd wasted your time and should have joined the broken finger nail brigade in A&E. But thank you nurse practitioner Sean for your good natured professionalism at my first appointment.
