Dr Hakim was a very good listener and has a good manner. He made us feel very at ease and as though we were equals. He spend a great deal of time explaining the diagnosis and diagnostic tests. He also gave us his email address for further advice consultation if necessary. I honestly don't feel as though there is anything that could have been improved.

I waited quite a while for my appointment with Dr Hakim, but it was so worth the wait. I feel I have finally found a doctor who is not overwhelmed by all of my symptoms and medical history (there is quite a bit!), but who could sift through it all and see what was relevant and connected, and what was not. As a person, I found him to be incredibly gentle and empathetic; as a doctor, thorough and knowledgeable. During the appointment, I feel he acknowledged everything; it didn't feel rushed at all, unlike many other consultant and GP appointments I have had. His follow-up and onward referral to other specialists has happened in a very timely manner, and has been much appreciated, as has his cc'ing relevant professionals involved in my care to keep everyone on the same page. He very clearly outlines next steps for all involved, and his clinical summary will be a useful tool moving forward to bring anyone new up to speed! In having my appointment with Dr Hakim, my only regret was that I didn't organise it sooner, but at least now I finally I have someone in my corner. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I was so impressed by doctor Alan Hakim, who I recently met for the first time. He was so patient, kind, generous of his time, knowledgable, and had great solutions and suggestions to better manage my pain, and my pregnancy. I have full trust in him, and it is so reassuring to have met a doctor with so much knowledge who I really feel can offer me the best solutions for a more pain free future.

I cannot praise Dr Alan Hakim highly enough. His manner and professionalism are, in my view, second to none (and I have seen many!). He is friendly, kind and deeply compassionate. He listens intently and understands what is said to him by a patient. He never appears to rush, force or coerce, but rather persuade through informative, simple discussion and education of the facts, woven into conversation in a manner that is easy to understand. He answers questions directly and applies his clearly extensive medical knowledge and experience in a way that not only puts a patient at ease because also instills trust. He appears to ensure no stone remains un-turned in his desire to help his patients become well again. After seeing over 40 consultants and doctors over the years I can truthfully say Dr Alan Hakim is by far the most professional and effective I have met. I wholeheartedly recommend him to any patient and think if more were like him we would see a revolution in healthcare!

Dr Hakim truly is the best doctor I have ever encountered. We have seen many doctors this year, passed from pillar to post, trying to get to the bottom of the many health problems that have manifested. Dr Hakim is the only doctor that has ever took the time to properly read the information I gave him, both before, during and even after the appointment and so was able to really consider all my health problems and how they might fit together. He put me at ease during the appointment. I get terrible brain fog when trying to explain things, so it tends to make me uncomfortable and embarrassed in appointment settings (especially as most doctors are in a rush to get you out of the door, which only makes things more uncomfortable when you can't think or explain things quickly enough for them). I never felt this with Dr Hakim and my husband said it was the best he'd ever seen me manage in an appointment. This was all thanks to Dr Hakims calm, unrushed and pleasant manner and the fact that he asked me specific questions from the knowledge he'd gained by reading my notes, rather than expecting me to be able to recount a summary of it all off the top of my head. Unfortunately it seems my case isn't a straightforward diagnosis but Dr Hakim has written an extremely detailed letter, suggesting his initial suspicions and made recommendations for tests and referrals. He also articulated my medical history so well in the letter, that it is going to really help make things easier with other consultants I need to see. We really feel like he has gone the extra mile with my case, both with his time and with his consideration. He even sent through a draft of his letter to ensure he had recorded my medical history correctly before sending it to my GP. He has been extremely patient with my particular difficulties in communicating and summarising. Although we still have no diagnosis or definite answers yet, Dr Hakim has planned a way forward of referrals and tests that has left me feeling in good hands, with him leading the recommendations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
