I have had extensive contact with Dr Mayet on a professional level in relation to shared care of a complex patient. He has gone above and beyond on numerous occasions to advocate for his patient and to ensure that patient care has been maintained at the highest level. This has involved a huge amount of co-ordination and communication between various teams and hospitals, including during time that I know would have included his personal evenings, weekends and holidays. He strongly embodies the importance of patient centered care, team working and communication. I thought I would write this review as sometimes patients are not always aware of the huge amount of work that occurs outside of the consultations themselves for GPs and how much they are the crucial glue that often holds everything together.
