I have been seeing Dr Abbas at SJUH for a complex endocrinology condition for several months. He is very knowledgable, a great listener and responsive to queries even outside clinic appointments. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

After being given contradicting advice under Dr Abbas through his registrar under the nhs, I ended up having to pay for a private consultation which was worth its weight in gold as Dr Abbas was able to spend the time needed to explore alternative treatment options and provide me with the information to make an informed patient choice. It’s just upsetting and unacceptable that the level of care under the nhs is so substandard that patients now have to spend their own money to get the care and advice needed. If I am under the care of Dr Abbas as an NHS or private patient the advice given should not be different. But in my case it was.

Dr Abbas was extremely helpful. Having clearly explained the results of my recent Dexa scan, he then described in detail the various treatment options available to me and his own recommendations as to how best to proceed. He listened attentively throughout and answered my questions and dealt with my concerns thoughtfully and with great courtesy. I feel very confident with his recommendations for future treatment.

I actually enjoyed my consultation with Dr Abbas. He was friendly, easy to talk to, listened and gave me lots of helpful information as well as analysis of my DEXA scan results. I received a report later giving an overview of the consultation which has been so helpful as it is always difficult to remember every detail discussed on the day. The experience has given me a very clear understanding of what is required to assist my bone health for the years ahead. I highly recommend him
