Dr Abdul Gatrad

I cannot recommend Professor Gatrad more highly. This is the second health concern we have seen him for during my son’s 15 years and yet again the treatment and service we have received has been outstanding. Professor Gatrad listens to your concerns, his professional manner and empathy is incredible. I credit Professor Gatrad for my son still being alive after horrendous asthma when he was young and then back again in his teen years he had once again come to our rescue with debilitating migraines. He really is an incredible, but so humble person!

What an incredible doctor Dr Gatrad is! Our son was experiencing serious chest pains during exercise. During the initial consultation, Dr Gatrad gave such reassurance that he did not believe it was his heart causing the pain, but to be absolutely sure he sent him for more tests, which confirmed he was absolutely correct. We honestly cannot recommend or thank Dr Gatrad enough. The selflessness he puts into his charity work is also so inspirational. I look forward to reading his charity book when it arrives.

We saw Professor Gatrad privately at his clinic and he was extremely patient, kind, thorough and empathetic. He listened to the whole story, there was no rush and he was reassuring and explained everything clearly to myself and my daughter. I feel I am able to contact him should we be concerned about my daughter's condition and that he will be willing to assist with any worries we may have. Thanks to him, we finally feel like we are on the right track to getting our daughter better.

Dr Rashid is so kind and caring . My son had a very long standing medical issue that was making family life quite stressful. After one appointment with Dr Rashid , which was in a very comfortable setting , my son is cured . He listens and explains in very easy terms for both child and parent to understand. Our young son has suffered throughout his young life with bowel issues and despite constant referrals and trips to the hospital and GP, no improvements were ever made and his suffering and ours just got worse and worse. Through desperation we felt the need to seek private care and I’m so glad we saw Prof G. He really listened and asked everything there was to know about our son right from the day he was born. This got a bit much for me and I got upset. He said “don’t worry mummy, we will get you smiling again”. Through the information he learned in our consultation he was able to offer us advice that has changed all our lives and ended our son’s suffering. I have without doubt never experienced the sort of patient care we received from Prof G ever before. We would see him again in the future in a heartbeat if necessary.

We have been lucky enough to be in the exceptional care of Professor Gatrad with our two sons for over 9 years. Having moved to the area when our eldest son was 2 we had seen various paediatrician’s throughout the north of England. Without doubt Prof G is the leading paediatric Dr in the uk, the depth of his knowledge and years of experience is exceptional. We have lost count the times we have recommended him to our friends and colleagues throughout the uk. He has successfully diagnosed and treated our two sons with various issues over the years ranging from their specialist genetic blood disorder, severe reflux and CMPA of our youngest son all the way through to orthopaedic toe issues. We will be forever thankful for his remarkable care and genuine concern for our children, our boys are so fond of him as are we! Professor Gatrad is extremely professional, wonderfully kind and welcoming which instantly makes you feel at ease, listening to all parents concerns and throughly diagnosing the child leaving no stone unturned. Our tests and follow up’s are first class and we are indeed privileged to call upon him if we need to make a new appointment. Without doubt one of the best medical professionals we have seen over our years and we are extremely thankful for all he has done for our boys.

There are some moments in life where you are really grateful for what you have and meeting Professor Gatrad after our daughters referral to him was one of those moments! Prof. Gatrad's depth of knowledge is second to none and the way he involves parents (and children) in his consultations and his thought processes means that you can feel super confident in the resolutions he gives. If we had not found him we would still be going round in circles trying to help our daughter. Instead we now understand exactly what is happening with her and ways to manage it that have made her so much happier. We are very grateful to him. Ultimately, he is just an all round impressive man and we would recommend him to anyone.

I first met Professor Gatrad when I was just 6 weeks old and suffering from CMPA, he made a very positive and lasting impact on my parents so much so that 30 years later (in 2024) we reached out to him when my newborn son was presenting with similar symptoms. Professor Gatrad’s support, advice and care over recent weeks has meant that we now have a much happier and healthier baby boy. We will be forever grateful for his help! We took our granddaughter to see professor Gatrad today, all I can is what a caring and kind person he is. He explained everything in simple language so we could all understand what he was telling us. He is genuinely one of nicest doctors any one could meet, our granddaughter after initial doubt was very comfortable with him. I would highly recommend any one whose child is not well to see him.
