Professor Gatrad has been my daughters consultant since she was three months old, she is now eight .He has always taken the time to reasure our daughter as well as us. We trust him 100% with our daughters care and wouldn't think twice about recommending him and he is an excellent Doctor who genuinely cares for the health of his patients.

Over a number of years we have seen Dr Gatrad with Jessicas Heart and other problems. I have always felt reassured of a high standard of care and listening we can always approach him and be listened to.

My son was referred to Professor Gatrad's team on my request as I was un-happy with the service provided at our local hospital. I was pleased that I was aware of who I was seeing and at the appointment it was Professor Gatrad himself, he spent time with us as a family explaining the procedures that he was going to carry out and why. Professor Gatrad also ensured that my son who is thirteen understood what was happening. I didn't feel rushed and was able to ask any questions, this was a distressing time for our family because our son wasn't himself and nobody could say why but leaving our first appointment we felt confident in Professor Gatrad that he was going to help us. Everything that has been discussed has been carried out and we feel we have been informed at all stages. We all has a family are very pleased with the service provided by Professor Gatrad and would recommend him to everybody.

Professor A R Gatrad OBE has been a child specialist at the Manor hospital for over 25 years. He is nationally and internationally known through many of his publications and the 2 books that he has written. He holds a national award for clinical excellence.
