I have known Professor Gatrad for the best part of 22 years. He was the senior consultant when my son fell seriously ill at the age of three. We called Professor Gatrad to our house and when he saw how seriously ill he was he drove my son directly to the hospital. His approach was always very kind with my son and with me he was always clear and sympathetic and everything a parent requires in that situation. After my son had major surgery, Professor Gatrad was always available for any follow up queries or issues that we had and took a keen interest in his post-operation progress. Professor Gatrad has also been very helpful with my youngest son for nearly 10 years since my son ongoing medical issues and I never have any doubt about taking medical advice from Professor Gatrad for my children. Professor Gatrad never rushes parents and is very sympathetic to childrens’ pain when it comes to health problems. He has a special ability to make parents feel at ease and gives parents confidence about their child’s health. I would like to thank Professor Gatrad for his help and understanding.

My 14 year old son saw Prof Gatrad at Walsall Manor Hospital. Firstly my sons appointment came really quick, and upon arrival we did not wait very long at all. Prof Gatrad was excellent he took time to speak to Jack and most of all listened to what Jack said. I would like to thank Prof Gatrad for his excellent approach and proffesionalism. Thankyou Sue White (Jacks mom)

My daughter has been seeing Doctor Gatrad since she was diagnosed with hemihypertrophy at the age of one, she is now six . We, as her parents were given great reassurance by Dr Gatrad`s care , knowledge and fantastic communication skills with our daughter. She has never dreaded going to see him as he is so friendly and has all the time in the world for her and us. We have been very pleased with the care that she receives from him, so a great big thank you to you Dr Gatrad.

My daughter was referred to Dr Gatrad after she had her 8 week check up and our GP heard a heart mumur. I was obviously very worried as i have had to live with a heart condition myself. Dr Gatrad listened to my concerns and conducted a thorough examination on my daughter. Thankfully he couldnt hear anything which was a great relief and Dr Gatrad was very reassuring that she was perfectly fine. I would recommend this dr very highly to anyone as he put my mind a rest and explained everything he was doing and why.He was very good with my baby and didnt mind that she was sick several times on the table.
