I consulted Mr Ballaro on spotting traces of blood in my urine following an episode of really severe flu like vomiting. I'm approaching my 75th birthday, generally fit and well, but with x ray and HIFU treatments of two separate incidents of prostate cancer in the last decade. Following a series of scans and an internal camera 'survey' it turns out that I'm fine but (with considerable recent experience of other consultants) I'm writing to remark on the focus, reassurance and dignity of Andrew's approach. He listened carefully to every concern I expressed (and accurately and fully related everything in his subsequent update to my GP). He rationally urged me, against my reluctance, to follow his recommended course of prudent investigation, the results of which supported his initial guidance as to the likely cause of the bleeding. He didn't ration his time, he listened and he 'cared'.

Top class urologist and organised an operation at short notice on a large kidney stone. Would highly recommend Andrew. Always helpful and was available when I needed assistance and advice.

I am under the care of Mr Andrew Ballaro for kidney stones. I find him to be a very nice and polite doctor. He is very attentive and listens to what I need to say or ask questions. He explains the findings in detail and ensures that I understand. He is thorough. He is willing to help in any way he can by requesting an investigation for a problem which I have been worried about. He reassures me and makes me feel well looked after.

I visited Mr Ballaro for advice and treatment on my kidney stone and found Mr Ballaro to be an exceptional consultant. Mr Ballaro was very pleasant and listened carefully to my concerns and answered all my questions in detail and in simple to understand terms, and also clearly explained my treatment alternatives. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Mr Ballaro.

Mr Ballaro is a consummate professional who offered sage and clear advice when I needed to have a 2.5cm kidney stone removed via mini PCNL. I was of course anxious about the procedure, but after discussing this with Mr Ballaro any questions I had were comprehensibly answered, and I gained an extremely good understanding of the surgery that I needed. Both prior to, during my hospital stay and after the surgery Mr Ballaro was available to answer any further questions I had. Prior to surgery he clearly explained the procedure again and post surgery he visited me in recovery and the next day in my hospital room. I felt well cared for and at every point during my care I had everything I needed to make a swift recovery and remain well informed. Post surgery I had some pain, but after removal of the stent (one week post surgery) this was minimal and the incision point healed very quickly. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mr Ballaro to anyone undergoing this type of surgery. The experience I had was very positive.
