A very professional and flexible service. Dr Zadeh has been so kind, helpful and patient. I felt validated and listened to and I had lots of opportunities to ask my questions. I really feel like I have been in such good hands and the diagnosis and treatment of my ADHD has made a huge difference to my life. Thank you so much Dr Zadeh

I booked an ADHD assessment via the ADHD centre. The phsychiatrist coached me through a couple of aspects of the assessment to ensure a positive result. Then his report included his opinion that I may have a different mental illness that recommended having assessed (for £2k I believe). Then he was uncontactable for weeks to book any follow up or help with a treatment plan despite multiple assurances that someone would get back to me in a day or two. When I made a complaint I was told that the Dr had a reputation across the business for not getting back to patients on time, and that he's also their most popular psychiatrist, which feels like they care about income more than care giving. Run a mile. There are lots of quality caregivers out there.

I spent more money then I ever had in my life on this assessment and I had to borrow from family to do it. I spent weeks fillings out the forms they sent beforehand and really struggled with them. I had to get my family involved and get access to my medical history. I stressed out about the meeting and was very nervous when the day finally came. I travelled to London because I do not like video calls, this cost an extra £300. I do not think the Dr even read the firms because our meeting was us filling out almost the exact same form, but this time I could not come back to it or spend days mulling over my answers. We did not cover half of what I put on the initial ones. I have been using cannabis to self medicate for years and have made great steps to stop, helped by the hope that this appointment would give me the push to pack it in for good. I had one smoke 14 hours before the meeting, the night before because I could not sleep. The Dr asked about drug use and I was honest. She then stated she could smell it on me, despite the fact I'd showered and was wearing different clothes. She used this information to dismiss me and seemed pretty righteous about it. I was not put at ease at all and I chose this Dr specifically because her reviews said she was understanding and helpful in getting as much information as possible. She focused on the questions that I could not relate to my life, for example 'can you sit in a lecture?'. I have not attempted higher education because I know I could not focus on the workload or manage myself in that setting so I have never been to a lecture, so I told her I didn't know because I have never attempted to. I have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety previously and have suffered under useless GPs who do not take me seriously, I believe they are secondary symptoms from untreated ADHD. I emailed the ADHD centre in the research stage asking specifically about how they would affect the assessment and was told only that I would be referred back to my GP for baseline healthchecks and the cost of follow up appoinrtments. I chose to pay for private care because the wait time through GP is immense and the stress of even getting an appointment is affecting my overall health. My GP had referred me for further mental health tests and I scored highly on the initial ADHD assessment, but this was over a year ago and I am sick of waiting for an undetermined date. This did not matter to the private doctor. She told me I am too depressed to be diagnosable, that the medication I had been prescribed previously was of a very low dose and even stated that I was self medicating with Cannabis. She advised I return to the GP for treatment for anxiety/depression and continue to pursue further testing through the NHS as well as requesting autism screening. I left disheartened, disillusioned and robbed of my dignity and hope. My mental health has dipped further as a result. It has been over 2 weeks and I have recieved no report from her, despite her saying it would arrive within 2 weeks. The whole experience has been a waste of time, money and energy.

I cannot thank Dr Zadeh enough for his continuous care and support since first joining The ADHD Centre as a private patient. If you are looking for a dedicated, caring, and thorough Psychiatrist, then look no further. I've struggled with my Mental Health since around 2015 and initially sought treatment on the NHS. I was diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety and Depression and was treated with various medications, CBT, and Psychotherapy for approximately 8 years. 2023 was when things started to spiral, and although previous medications had helped keep things at a level, no one medication has ever really clicked, hence changing several times. It was only late 2023 that family and friends suggested it may be something else entirely: ADHD. At first, I was reluctant to even entertain the idea. Though over the course of a few weeks, and as I researched a bit more, things started to line up. I filled in several online screening tests, all of which came back with a high likelihood, with recommendations to get assessed. I contacted my NHS GP and discussed my concerns, all of which they validated and supported. Unfortunately, they were unable to refer me through the NHS or Right To Choose due to the large waiting list, though reiterated that they would support me in any way they could if I went private. After hours of searching through Google for private Psychiatry clinics specializing in Adult ADHD, I stumbled upon The ADHD Centre. Sceptical at first, I went from page to page looking at current Psychiatrists, reviews, prices, and other information before I ended up booking an assessment with Dr Ahmad Mahmoud Zadeh. I wasn't sure what to expect, though reading through his profile, I felt reassured he was the right Doctor for me. Before the assessment, I was sent two questionnaires to have family or friends to fill out, an observation survey if you will, one for childhood and one for adulthood. On the day of the assessment, I was understandably nervous. It was online via Zoom and lasted around 2 to 2.5 hours. Dr Zadeh was professional, courteous, caring, and knowledgeable from the start. He made me feel at ease while I was answering his questions, giving examples, and asking a ton of my own questions. After the assessment and reviewing his notes, he officially diagnosed me with ADHD Combined type. He asked how I felt, made sure everything was explained clearly, and set out the next steps, making sure to leave space for any questions or concerns on my end. At the time, I was happy yet frustrated, relieved yet anxious, plus every other emotion in-between, all of which he understood and quantified. At no point did I feel lost, and I thank Dr Zadeh and the whole ADHD Centre team for that. Over the next few months, I was asked to book in preliminary tests to start medication after a fully informed conversation with Dr Zadeh. At no point was I forced down this route. In fact, he made sure to cover all treatment options and ultimately left the decision down to me, which I wholeheartedly appreciate. After Bloods, ECG, Echo, BP, Pulse, Height, and Weight tests, which again were all supported by my GP, I started titration on Methylphenidate Modified Release with the addition of an extra one or two Instant Release tablets to suppress some morning/evening side effects. All of this occurred in a controlled manner over several months, meeting once a month for a review, checking vitals, side effects, and general wellbeing. As of today, I am stable on medication, meeting with Dr Zadeh every 6 months for a review. I can confidently say I have never felt better. It's as if someone has flicked a switch or fixed a frayed cable! To think I have most likely suffered with ADHD my entire life without even considering it is crazy. But, as pointed out by Dr Zadeh, it may not be first apparent in childhood, especially if you have a top-notch support network (family, friends, teachers, etc.). Thank you again, Dr Zadeh and The ADHD Centre team!

I had my assessment a few months ago but upon introspection have realized how my life has completely changed because of the positive validation, guidance and resources by my doctor. I was lucky that I managed to get an appointment with Dr Rawala, had been following him on Twitter since hearing one of his talks on women with ADHD and hormonal changes which he did in 2021 or 2022 during the ADHD awareness month for a European ADHD charity. I did have to take a short flight to London, UK to see him and understood that prescription of medications can only happen for UK based patients as per rules, do not think it was due to UK leaving us in Brexit, think related with general medical rules for all doctors or something. I was like most days, very anxious about the assessment, and thinking if i do not have ADHD, maybe I was just imagining it or am just lazy. Within ten minutes of seeing him, and even before we started the formal assessment, I felt heard. He validated my emotions and anxiety, took time to explain how the appointment would happen and that his role is not to say yes or no to just ADHD diagnosis, but if not ADHD, then to help guide me to what else could be the reason for my symptoms. That is why I wanted to see him, during the meeting, he explored my symptoms related with other medical problems, hormonal changes and some immune condition which I forget the name of. He was thorough and after the diagnosis, spent an extra 30 mins after the meeting ended explaining me non-medical options, talking to me about my emotions being always raw and brutal , talking that it actually is around rejection sensitivity seen in ADHD females and how it could be helped to better quality of life, relationship stressors and I cried when he talked about imposter syndrome. I left the meeting - (and apologies that he ended up speaking to me for 2 hours and a bit even though the appointment was 90 mins) validated and not feeling like i have a problem or illness, since he emphasized around evolutionary biology and anethropoelogy of adult ADHD etc. He also sent me along with his very detailed report a document filled with so many topics as part of patient acceptance, education and walking the ADHD journey one step at a time and the whole 32 pages of this document was very useful for me to absorb and i still use some bits of it for reassurance, isnt it great he took time to put it together this resource and told me little helpful bits around why he made it with a pastel orange gradient as background and the font that he had for this resource - apparently some theory around this font and the colour gradient helping with focus, and pragmatic to laugh with me that at least worth a try since a font or background colour cant harm if not benefit. The reason I wrote this now after so many months is becuase he also included a resource for how ADHD indivuduals could better manage the festive period and emotions during this time, at that time in summer of 2023, i thought surely that might be too prescriptive but after feeling like my world is collapsing and emotionally charged during the last two weeks, I picked up the resources he sent me and put some techniques in place and do not know how, they worked for me and from another crap Christmas week like always, I actually managed to feel relaxed, controlled some of my problems because of ADHD and felt validated to not take the guilt trip bait. Thank you for the service.

Dr Ashish Kumar has helped our daughter in so many ways. Through her diagnosis we are now in a position of understanding and helping her move forward with the tools and information we can now access. The processes and accessibility has been great. All along the journey the surgery has been great to deal with and very understanding.

The ADHD Centre was very supportive and understanding. Admin team was supportive especially in the beginning of my journey after I received my diagnosis. Also, the team was very supportive when I had unexpected exceptional circumstances in my family while receiving care in the ADHD Centre, which was very helpful.
