Everyone is very friendly and helpful, would recommend Synergy Physiotherapy
Friendly and attentive staff who are focused on helping you get back to the activities and sports you were doing before injury.
I have been treated by Ruth Stubbs on two occasions – one for severe lower back pain about a year ago, a recurring problem from an old injury, and more recently for a trapped nerve in my neck. On the former, I have been treated over the years by several other physiotherapists (from different practices) who were all effective in resolving the problem temporarily but it inevitably reappeared after a few months. On a recommendation from a friend, I tried Synergy Physiotherapy in the hope that I would find a long term solution and I’m very glad I did! Ruth’s methods of diagnosis, explaining the causes of the issue in detail, and treatment, including massage and sets of progressive exercises, have helped resolve the issue on both occasions. More importantly, I now understand exactly what causes the problem and what I can do to prevent it! I would highly recommend Ruth Stubbs.
I live in London and had a calf strain as I was walking in the underground station, I instantly could not walk and had to lean on a train station employee to hop up the stairs (no lift!) and out of the station into a taxi.
I went to hospital emmergency treatment, but was sent back with advice to rest and have physio. My legs and my movement got worse over time, and I had not heard from the NHS for my physio appointment.
I eventually decided to go private with Synergy, and this was a good decision. I was immediately seen, assessed and treated the day after I booked my appointment online. Ruth Stubbs understood my needs and conditions immediately and we worked together to put me back on my feet. Four weeks later, I was able to go back on my 6 miles walk in the country. The confidence this clinic gave me was invaluable, and they helped me understand my problems so I can deal with them better.
NHS offered me my first physio appointment two weeks after I was discharged from Synergy. That's the difference. To walk or not to walk.
Highly recommended.
My son has hyper-mobility. He is 14 and very sporty, but when he grows his muscles can't keep up and become very vunerable when playing sports and he generally ends up in pain from hurting himself. He has been treated through the nhs on a number of occasions but due to the help my husband had for a torn shoulder we decided to go to Synergy Physiotherapy in St Johns, Woking. Ruth Stubbs saw him and explained his condition and gave him some exercises. She recognised that he needed help to build up his strength, so recommended that he see Andy at the same practice but in the gym. This was a great turning point for my son. When we saw Andy Cornelius, he explained what was needed and checked out my sons fitness with a review of the exercises Ruth had given him to do. He could see from this that he was able to do more in a safe way. But the main point was that he recognised his fear of not doing too much and hurting himself again. Andy explained that he was safe, he could see from his activity in the gym that he had the ability, but needed the confidence and right direction to build on the stability that the other exercises had given him. It was as if a light went on in Callum's head. He could do some sport, but only that recommended by Andy and that would be safe for him. After 3 visits in all Callum is now arranging basketball games with his friends and can play football. Thanks to both Ruth and Andy for giving my son his confidence back and the exercises to keep strong despite having hypermobility.
I suffered a sacroiliac injury that caused extreme pain and I could only sleep for an hour or so each night before getting up and walking around and trying to sleep again. After extensive tests, MRI scans etc. I was recommended to see a high impact physiotherapist. I went to Synergy at St John’s Woking, where I was seen by Ruth Stubbs. After just one session I got a good night’s sleep and after around 8 sessions I was handed over to Any Cornelius for further rehabilitation and strengthening.
I am extremely active, a horse rider and play golf, and am absolutely happy to recommend Synergy St John’s Woking where I found everyone to be extremely professional, helpful and supportive. From being told I may not be able to ride, I can now ride twice a week and play golf and will soon be back to doing more in a short period of time.
A special thank you to Ruth and Andy for getting me back to what I was doing before. I will continue using Synergy St John’s Woking to maintain and improve my physicality.
Snergy is great. We feel in safe hands at this great facility with the experts. I learnt a lot and improved a lot in just 2 weeks!
My daughter has been having regular paediatric physio sessions with Kath for a couple of months. I am so happy with her progress. Kath is very good at making my daughter feel relaxed and I am confident that we are receiving the support that we need.
I also attended a talk on hypermobility which was very informative and helpful.
Everyone at Synergy is always so friendly and it is a nice, welcoming, easy place to visit.
I had Dan take me through a running clinic for five sessions. Instantly I began to see an improvement, and I have been provided with exercises that will allow me to continue improving well after the course has finished.
Great sports massage with good tips about running technique!
