I just wanted to send you all the thanks in world for everything you have done for me. Giving me my diagnosis and prescribing me the correct medication has literally changed my entire life. I'm so much happier and can finally achieve my full potential (and I already am in so many different ways)! Every single person I know has commented on how much happier I am and how much better I'm working... so thank you once again!
Excellent experience. Very smooth communication, all things timely, I felt everything I said was listened to, and I have successfully arrived to the right medication that has already improved my life dramatically. Thank you :)
The whole experience has been a breath of fresh air. After waiting more than 2 years to get my child assessed and diagnosed, it happened within two weeks of contacting this organisation. The Dr really listened to our concerns and also really listened to our child.
The staff are really friendly and helpful.
A fast but very comprehensive service. Very responsive doctors and admin. I felt very involved as a patient. Guided: not patronized or under supervised.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are, of course, always pleased to hear that patients have had a good experience with our service, and we share all feedback (good or bad) with colleagues, so that we know we should keep doing what we are doing - or whether we need to make changes. Thanks again for your time.
Number one for ADHD assessment and care!
I’ve been a patient with Psychiatry UK for a little over a year.
I have found the entire process to be phenomenal. My only difficulty is with the initial forms and remembering to measure my pulse and BP and order my medication (the irony of being an ADHD adult).
P-UK have been efficient, responsive, informative and seamless throughout the process; from supporting me obtaining a referral to them from my GP and the ensuing struggles with my local CCG, through to my request for a specific doctor , to titration, to review, to securing shared care with my GP.
I specifically requested Dr Elena Ghetau who I can hand on heart say is an angel. She is the kindest, most compassionate, understanding and loveliest doctor I have ever had the honour of being cared for by. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and to be cared for her again in the future if needed.
I also cannot speak highly enough of the owner of P-UK, Jon Chanter, who personally supported, advised and encouraged me to continue to fight for the care and assessment I needed when I had no fight left in me. He was right; getting the diagnosis I deserved and the medication I need has changed my life.
Without a doubt, P-UK are number one for ADHD assessment and care.
Thank you so much for your review. We are always really pleased to hear that patients have had a good experience with our service, and we share all feedback (good or bad) with all our colleagues. It is particularly good to know that Dr Elena Ghetau and our CEO, Jon Chanter, have made such a difference to your life. I will make sure they get to hear this feedback.
From the admin staff to the psychiatrist and tritation nurse I feel I have been treated with respect, listened to and have had very good communication with psychiatry uk. The portal system works very well although it's slightly awkward to use on a phone at times. I would only change that I would have liked talking therapy to be included as part of the service to process the diagnosis.
Through my process of being diagnosed and then seeking treatment for ADHD I was very supported and felt in good hands. The initial doctor who diagnosed me could come across as a little dismissive and at times insensitive to some quite personal triggers, but I was then placed into the care of a different nurse called who was amazing! Overall, very few complaints and a smooth process.
Thank you for your feedback. It is always really useful for us to hear about patient experiences, so we can make sure we address any problems quickly or make changes to our processes if needed. We are glad you have felt supported through your treatment, but if there is anything you would like to discuss further, please do get in touch with our Patient Experience Team at: experience@psychiatry-uk.com.
I feel like my appointments at PsychiatryUK are always hurried, and it's hard to communicate all the relevant information in such a short period of time. It always feels like I'm trying to explain something but the doctor is simply asking rapid-fire questions, trying to write down the key points, and then moving on before I can even articulate myself. I'm anxious that this way he might be missing some important information. It would've been easier to ask questions if I weren't hurried like that.
The review appointment for ADHD medication was meant to last 30 minutes but the doctor was a couple of minutes late and the meeting ended before the 30-minutes mark. Similarly, the diagnosis appointment was only 50 minutes long, so PUK charges people a lot of money for appointments that don't even last a full hour or half an hour, and that is a shame. I understand that the staff are under a heavy workload due to the RTC ADHD referrals but it's not fair on us paying patients, when we can't even discuss our concerns in depth, but get charged £360 and £180 to be seen...
How can they diagnose people with lifelong mental conditions such as ADHD or ASD, and prescribe those people controlled substances on top of that, when they barely have the time to listen? I am not even convinced that my doctor fully read the reports I was meant to send him for our initial appointment. During titration, the nurse would not always answer my question, instead giving me some copy-and-paste response. For instance I would say that the medication makes me sleepy, and she would tell me what to do if the medication makes it hard for me to fall asleep, which is the complete opposite of my issue.
I would only use this service as your last resort if you do not have any better options. At least it's quicker than the NHS, and can be a starting point on the road to treatment/getting accommodations.
We are really sorry to hear that you have felt your appointments with P-UK have been hurried and that you have not been able to say everything you wished to. Our assessment appointment time is typically 50 minutes, although the meeting may go slightly over this time if the consultant does not feel they have all the information they need to make an accurate diagnosis. We do say to patients that if they feel there is any additional information they would like to make their clinician aware of, they can add these details into their case notes on the portal. There is a full guide to our assessment process on our website (Treatments & Conditions > ADHD > What to expect from an ADHD assessment). If you feel you would like to discuss any of these points further, please do get in touch with our Patient Experience Team. You can contact them on: experience@psychiatry-uk.com. Thank you for feeding back: it is always really helpful to hear about any problems that crop up, so we can find ways to address them or make changes for future patients.
They were so great and kind, they even phoned me about my appointment to let me know of any changes and what time it is.
