Share review of Psychiatry-UK
When I had my autism assessment I had to fill in the relevant forms however when I told my autism support group the video call assessment was only scheduled as an hour long they said that's definitely not long enough for a proper assessment so it's probably the first of many.
The assessment was very basic with stereotypical questions however because I didn't know what was going to be asked and I was very nervous my mind kept going blank; there was so much more I could have added and a lot I missed out on saying.
The assessment was very short and didn't go into any depth or detail, for someone who automatically masks when first meeting people it wasn't long enough for the mask to fall and because the assessment was fast and condensed it felt like a speed round of questions so I couldn't go into great detail.
If the questions were given out prior to the assessment I would have been able to create notes so my mind didn't go blank and so many things wouldn't have been missed from the assessment. Personally it feels like a money grab especially given there are no feedback notes afterwards.
I personally wouldn't recommend Psychiatry-UK for an assessment to anyone as I don't feel they are organised enough and the assessments are very rushed and no way near as extensive as others described by autistics in the UK who had theirs with the NHS.
