My procedure covered 3 areas, flanks, upper and lower abdominals. From initial contact to now five weeks after my procedure, I receive excellent support and have access to my surgeon anytime of the day. Knowing my surgeon is so accessible during my postoperative period gives me complete peace of mind and has made the process of working towards my final body shape enjoyable and exciting. As you recover, you will notice things changing and you will be curious and question if it’s what to expect. A simple call or text to my surgeon puts my mind at rest but also and most importantly means you are informed and have learnt more about your recovery. Some tips. Smoothing daily is crucial, as your body is healing. Manual lymph drainage massage immediately during the days after surgery for at least 6 sessions is essential. Did you know the lymphatic system is the only system in the body that works using muscles and your breath? Being immobile for the few days means the system needs help to work, I have learnt so much about my body. The massage is very light touch because the lymph nodes are just below the skin and run throughout your body. Take pain relief before you attend as your areas will be sore. Garments - well I can highly recommend Esshop Rubenisque compression garments. You pay a little extra but hey, you’re already invested and the quality of the compression garments not only reduce swelling, but they support and provide some pain relief as you become more mobile . Lipoelastic is another type of garment I have, slightly different style with smooth sides. I use this mainly for transitioning when washing my esshop garment. Listen to your surgeon. They really know what they are doing have want you to be your best self. What do I mean by this? As you recover and your new shape forms you will need to move into smaller garments. My first was large I moved into a medium and I have now ordered the small size in readiness for my next stage. Warning the garments are tight, but this is how they are meant to be. You get used to it and omg you really notice your shape has changed when you get out of your baggy clothes and into your normal clothing. I recommend not going skin tight you are already compressed. I started wearing my jeans after 3 weeks mainly because this was when I could physically get them on by myself
