I recently had an anal skin tag removal procedure (due to external piles) I was really unsure of having this procedure done due to lack of reviews and a few horror story's I had read, so to hopefully help people decide I thought id leave my experience. The waiting room was a tad confusing as there's no reception but if you read the signs on the walls it explains everything, and then someone called my name bang on the time of my appointment :) Once upstairs Peter explained everything and answered all of my questions, him and his assistant were both really nice which put my nerves at ease completely, he then checked to make sure the procedure could go ahead. It was over within half an hour (slightly uncomfortable but it was no problem to add more anaesthetic) Afterwards you have to wait half an hour downstairs (not painful as anaesthetic hadn't worn off yet) and then go back upstairs so he could make sure there was no irregular bleeding, then spray an antiseptic film over the wound. He then gave me all the aftercare info I needed. The whole thing took maybe 1.5 hours, I got the train home and was fine, a bit achey is how I would describe it. Over the first week I did have to take painkillers but the pain was no worse than piles themselves. The first bowel movement was sharp pain but wasn't the worst and only a small amount of blood (make sure you use stool softeners). After exactly 10 days all of the stitches were gone and the skin had mostly healed over, I reckon maybe 4-5 days more to be completely healed. Over all I'm super happy with the results ! I wish I had the courage to do it sooner ! I also had 2 skin tags (one quite large one small) that he took off (I thought I would have to pay double) So very happy about that. I would 100% recommend and if I could leave a before and after photo I would. I think in time the skin tags will return but I wouldn't be hesitant to have the procedure again :)
