I had two hammer toes, most probably inherited alongside two non painful bunions. One of the hammer toes on my larger foot was becoming very sore with an open wound and this seriously affected my walking and hence fitness level. I had been to see another podiatrist a year before who recommended some custom made insoles in order to avoid surgery but quite honestly, the ' horse had bolted' by then. I went to see Sally on recommendation and she was completely straight forward and said the toe was not going to improve and could indeed get a lot worse by crossing over the next toe. She did the op six weeks ago and I really wish I had seen her a couple of years ago. She clearly outlined the operation and subsequent recovery so I knew what to expect and I am really happy with the result. Still a little swollen and a bit sore but getting better every day. Sally is very pragmatic but kind and approachable. She stresses that she is on the end of the phone for advice and most importantly, she is very competent and professional. I had great care at the BMI Shelburne hospital.
