Mr Ian Reilly

I'm an advanced specialist MSK Podiatrist working for the NHS. I recently attended a training course ran by Mr Reilly, and found him to be knowledgeable, engaging and extremely supportive. I have no hesitation in recommending him as a clinician or as a mentor.
I often refer patients to the care of Ian Reilly for a surgical opinion.
Today a very happy patient returned for routine podiatric treatment after her very successful surgery to her fifth toe.
She found the whole process a very pleasant experience and would be extremely happy to return in the future for any further procedures.
It’s nearly been 1 year since I had my double bunion surgery , it was by far the best and scariest decision I’ve ever made having been classed as an adult and going through it all on my own due to Covid with no family allowed in the hospital and a fear of mine being out to sleep was a scary thought but it all went good and I couldn’t be more thankful to Dr Reilly at the woodlands hospital who really has changed my life for the better and made the process go super smoothly and made me feel super welcome and at ease ! I never thought it would be possible living life being able to do sport pain free , but having gone through this surgery it has proven that this was the correct decision for me . The recovery went really well along with with really positive check ups ensuring the feet were healing properly . I can not fault the service at all especially being an NHS patient , I was treated just like a private patient would have been , with respect and a nice welcoming therefore I Highly recommend.
I promise I did not write this review myself!
A jolly individual who makes you feel at ease during surgery and during aftercare.
My only criticism was that pin removal from my toe was incredibly painful and I felt I should have had either a local anaesthetic or been pre warned to take extremely strong pain relief before the procedure. As a result it was agony at the time and I ended up in bed for 2 days with strong pain relief.
Very many thanks for the kind and honest feedback. Pin removals are RARELY as bad as this - and this lovely lady is having the other foot operated on by me next month. I appreciate her continued trust.
Mr Reilly has operated on both my feet (Mar 19 & Nov 20) and each time he has been really helpful and friendly, as well as being completely professional when discussing my feet (pre & post op) : one of the most approachable surgeons I have met (I've had several surgeries).
When I had a few post-op problems last year and e-mailed the team with my worries, it was Mr Reilly who replied back almost immediately. I really felt he was totally involved with my care and I wasn't passed onto a junior collegue once the op was done.
Thank you for this lovely review. It is very much appreciated and nice to know my (an my team's) efforts don't go unnoticed. TY
