Dexamethasone tablets

I am on a very low dose of dex. so far so good. Inly twice a week for 3 weeks then 1 week off. Please take your meds. In the morning as this drug keeps you awake. High doses give you more side effects. I was hesitant to go on this drug due to the severe sidr effects. I am happy to be on only 4mg tablets not the injection.

The Dex tablets reduced the swelling in my brain (I had a meningioma) and made me feel loads better. I was able to walk more steadily, concentrate better and enjoy life. I felt a bit agitated at times, twitchy, and occasionally short-tempered, so it would help other patients taking this to warn their families not to take it personally! My sleep was very disturbed, but I went with the flow and read/dozed during the night and napped during the day. My appetite increased dramatically, so I would advise snacking on fruit etc rather than crisps so you don’t have an added weight problem! These issues are only temporary of course, and overall, the Dex very much improved my quality of life
