Clexane was prescribed to be taken by injection for 28 days after bowel surgery. It was prescribed to reduce risk of blood clots after surgery. A nurse in hospital showed me the correct procedure for self injection (into the stomach) and thereafter I was on my own. Initially there is a slight squeamishness about self injection but after a few days, you get used to it and just close your eyes and prod! I now realise that I could never become a drug addict!
