For me, Cerazette is one of the worst tablets I have ever taken and I honestly never felt so much relief when my doctor agreed they were doing more harm than good, and stopped me taking them. About a month or so into taking them, I was experiencing constant bleeding, breast pain, and awful nausea/vomiting after eating. For me, they exacerbated my issues with generalised anxiety disorder, leading to intense panic attacks I now am seeking therapy to maintain. Whilst they definately do help prevent pregnancy with protection, I personally found this mini-pill hell to take. I'm working more on my weight to go onto the combined pill and hopefully have a more positive experience. If you are prescribed them, try them- but be aware of your symptoms and always call doctors if you are worried.

Started taking Cerazette as GP refused to continue to prescribe the combined pill as I am 50. I started having significant cramps in my thigh after a few days; one week in these were so painful they kept me awake at night. Having read that these can be caused by inactive ingredients in medicine, I stopped the Cerazette. Two days later, cramp free. I then started reading the reviews on this pill and I am horrified. Needless to say the gp did not mention any potential side effects and the pharmacy did not send me the notice as the prescription was only for 1 month "to try it". So much for informed consent.

I took cerazette for two months. This was the first birth control I've ever taken in my life- I am 28 and prior to now I just used condoms but my partner wanted to try without, so I picked a bc option that was estrogen free and that would not be inserted into my body so I could stop it at any time in case I disliked it. The first month was awesome - no side effects whatsoever and my acne cleared up. Once I got to month #2 I had 2 heavy periods in a row with only about a week in between, with some more breakthrough bleeding so I decided to quit. I stopped taking it 2 days ago and I'm bleeding again- not sure if this will just be a little bit of blood or another heavy period but we'll see. In any case- loved it at the beginning, definitely improved my quality of life with no side effects but that didn't last. I did not experience weight gain or changes in mood which were what I was afraid of I may try it again in the future. Tldr I do recommend Cerazette - try it and see if it works for you, and if it doesn't you can always stop taking it at any time and try something else.

I was on the double pill before this, but had one migraine so was told I couldn't take that pill anymore. I was on the other pill for about 10 years and it worked so well - regular periods (literally knew exactly when they'd be), and no side effects apart from the odd mood swing. Cerazette has completely changed that, I bleed pretty much constantly which is emotionally and physically draining - there's maybe 1 week (max 2) in a month when im not bleeding. Affecting my sex life as im not sure when I'll be bleeding and dont want to have sex while I am. Pretty sure it's causing bad back pain too. I've been on it for about 18 months and hate it but don't have another option really, I still don't want to get pregnant and have never got on with condoms and hate the idea of coil/injection. I think every body is different and I know people who don't bleed at all on this poll but I don't think it's for me.

Unpleasant side effects like unbearable breast pain and ongoing bleeding which was by far the major issue in my case. Of the 10 or so months that I took Cerazette, I was bleeding for about 5-6 months nearly every week. Also, I had a clear skin before going on Cerazette which is now totally messed up & I am trying to sort it out with my GP's help. I guess you won't have any other choice of hormonal contraception if you are obese or very overweight. But if you aim to reduce your weight, you can go on a different contraception (if your doctor approves of course), which I would definitely recommend. The only positive side of it for me was that it got rid of my severe body ache and period pain for several months.
