I visited this hospital yesterday to attend the trauma clinic.From the moment of entry into the hospital I was guided through to the department needed by friendly aids.The waiting area was pleasant and the screen address system with patients main appearing was very important.No one wants to be in hospital but to make you feel less stressed is a good situation standard to attain.Thank you.
My 3 month old son went in for a plastic surgery procedure today. We were looked after by staff ok Dyfed Ward. All staff were amazing with the baby and also me and my partner. They made us feel totally at ease and couldn't thank them enough. Amazing.
I underwent a Discectomy and was on ward w, most of the staff were great but some of the nurses had chips on their shoulders and spent their time hiding from the matron and testing their temperature with ear thermometers.
The nurses on SDMU are particulary arrogant and unpleasant I saw one of them bullying a doctor who was looking after me.
They need to show real compassion not just pretend to be.
There was an air of unpleasantness around on the ward and negative energy adding up to my pain.
The nurses on the SDMU ward were particularly arrogant and unpleasant and the I saw one nurses particularly bullying a Doctor infront of me and chasing her around, I felt sorry for the Doctor because he was looking after me and he looked sullen due to that the way he was talked to.
There is a particular air of unpleasantness in the ward.
They need to teach the nurses to be more compassionate not just to act it up because it still shows.
Attended the ultrasound department yesterday and I must say the radiographer was excellent. Don't know if this feedback will reach her as I do not know the ladies name but she had beautiful gray hair. What a lovely lady made me feel totally relaxed which is not easy as I have anxiety and hospitals I find particularly difficult. The whole service was excellent everyone was polite and friendly even though they were very busy. The only improvement I could offer is maybe a park and ride scheme as the parking was horrendous. There's a facility less than a mile away at Velindre which is used by the DVLC could work for staff, visitors and outpatients if it could be addressed. Service and staff great but leave plenty of time if you need to park.
Amazing support at ward M and genraly around the hospital. Massive thanks to Mr N.J Price who amazingly turned my life around.
There were 2 slight nursing mistakes during my stay but I firmly blame that on Government cuts overworking our NHS staff into 15 hour shifts in some cases. Overall, and given their workload, they were fantastic. Thanks so much.
I was certainly happy with Ward W, and found that ALL staff from porters to consultants treated me ( and others in the ward) with the very best of care, and did so with courtesy and concern for my comfort.
The meals could be better, but I fully appreciate that it difficult to cater for so many people.
The following needs addressing
Attitude of both nurses and doctors towards patients
A better understanding of the psychology of the sick person
Understanding of patients' experience needs major improvement
The bullying approach needs to stop
Staff are highly defensive and unable to deal with questions that challenge their behaviour or the care they are supposed to offer.
Staff are far too self serving in their opinions and judgements.
The hospital is not up to standard in terms of care provided, cleanliness, and there is a general lack of professionalism required, from their dress code to their roles as nurses and doctors.
Staff have no respect for people who are sick and vulnerable and should not be allowed to work there. Many of the staff appear bored, sullen, and arrogant.
Altogether a frightening, stressful and shocking experience at Morriston Hospital.
