The communication after the initial consultation with the doctor was very fragmented, I couldn’t get in touch with the PA. From when they found the abnormality until now, it’s been a month which shouldn’t really take that long to get a scan.
During the second consultation, the consultant had just come out of surgery which meant there wa as delay and also meant that my consultation session was reduced and I felt very rushed so did not feel assured to give my opinions or have a say. This made me feel concerned as I was already quite anxious about the results and upcoming scans and diagnosis.
The consultant’s PA was very unorganised as she just booked an appointment without asking me, and I had to chase up the admin team to try and arrange the appointment that would suit my schedule. Prior to that it took me nearly 3 weeks of emails and calls to get in touch in order to book this CT scan today.
Also the consultant was not copied into any of the emails and her PA is not based at the Cleveland so this was quite confusing for me.
I am most grateful to my consultant, doctors, nurses and support staff who cared so well for me. I cannot fault the care and service throughout my stay.
All the staff from the Doctors to the cleaners have been amazing nothing was ever to much trouble. Honestly the best care I have ever received whilst being in Hospital. Thank you all so much I really appreciate your hard work and effort and everything you did was always carried out without a smile.
