You send me a letter telling me to phone the surgery to make an appointment for a health check - and I have no idea how many times I sat in the queue to do exactly what you asked, before being cut off with a message telling me it's not possible to connect my call - please try again later. There has been substantial criticism of the inability to contact the surgery on local social media recently - well deserved from what I can see. You make it all but impossible to contact you short of filling in a form that entirely defeats the object of you sending me the letter in the first place. I do not work in an office, I am field based - even if I was to fill in one of the online forms, I would have to do it all on my mobile phone. Hardly ideal, is it?

Suggested improvements
  • Everything. All your systems are inward looking, your automated defence systems are simply not fit for purpose.

The surgery managment team is abysmal, it is almost impossible to get appointments, and many of the receptionists are incredibly rude. Despite this, when you actually manage to speak to a doctor or a nurse they are in line with NHS standards.

Suggested improvements
  • Bring in outside specialists to put in place a turnaround plan for the management of the surgery.

no routine appointments ever. you will have to wait ages. the only alternative is to sit and wait on the day. very unhelpful rude staff. I have not seen the same dr twice and not involved in my or my family car. easier to go wait in the hospital than here. I would not recommend registering. in fact I am going to change

I have had been a patient at a number of surgeries across the wycombe district BUT never have I found it as impossible to get a routine appointment as i do here. Average waiting time to see a doctor seems to be 4+weeks which is frankly ludicrous, so what happens is people call on the day for emergency appointments they don't need just so they actually get to see a doctor, in my opinion their process is beyond flawed! Also when you call the surgery instead of getting a mutli choice (i.e. for test results ring 1, to book a nurse appointment ring 2 etc) you are subjected to waiting on hold for quite a while subjected to a recorded lecture from the practice manage telling you how busy they are and to use minor injuries or A&E. Clearly as a practice they are over complicating the process and almost encouraging residents in the village to find alternative surgeries When you register for the surgery you are automatically nominated a specific doctor however you will be lucky to ever see them.

It seems to take 4 weeks or more to get to see a specific doctor for a routine patient so I tend to use the facilities at Hospital for emergencies.

If you need an appointment urgently you can get one. Doctors have always given me time especially with my daughter who has asthma and has had 3 hospital admissions in the past 18 months. All the practice nurses appear knowledgable and caring. The receptionists are always helpful and friendly. I like the self-check in as it beats queuing when it's busy. No complaints here.

Excellent and helpful receptionist. Great personal care from the doctors and nurses.

Response from the doctor - Thank you for your kind comments which are appreciated. We will strive for excellence but accept that we are a learning organisation which does make mistakes, but hopefully learn from them. Regards, Martin Elliott, Practice Manager.
